Governance

First General Assembly adopts the Statute and elects the Board of Directors

The General Assembly of the American Association for Applied Psychology and NLP met on 11 February 2024 for its first session. Twenty-two of the Assembly’s twenty-eight members took part.

Statute adopted

Members reviewed the draft Statute, which sets out the Association’s organisation, membership, governing bodies and educational programmes. On the Assembly’s initiative, the provision on the composition of the Board of Directors was amended to enlarge the Board to five members, so that it better reflects the growing number of trainers. The Statute, as amended, was adopted unanimously.

Board of Directors elected

The Assembly then elected the Board of Directors by secret ballot, and the composition of the Board was confirmed unanimously. The Board considers governance, training and ethical questions, decides by simple majority and reports to the Assembly. Its mandate is two years.

Looking ahead

Under other business, members discussed current questions of the Association’s work and began planning an annual gathering of trainers.
